What is English Literature about?
English at Palmer is is not a subject that has students only taking notes and listening to the teacher, it will teach English in a way that will help students exceed in there skills and they will be given a new perspective of the English language that is used in there daily lives. This course is a new way to dive deep into the depts of English and truly learn and feel the art of it.

​In grade 11, if the student is interested in literature, the course is called Literary Studies 11 (Incentive course separate: more information on English Incentive 11-12 page).
In grade 12, literature studies is an elective, the courses are called, Literary Studies 12 and Creative Writing 12.

English Literature at Palmer uses these four main core competencies to help and develop English skills that will help students after high school. Communication, Thinking, Personal and Social. These four aspects will be the building blocks to there English success.
Communication will teach students skills such as presenting information and ideas with confidence and understanding the connections between language and culture.
Thinking will teach students to come up with new different ideas.
Personal will teach students to incorporate English aspects into there daily lives.
Social will help them make new connections with people.
